Synology Memory Upgrades

If you’re unaware, I like Synology NAS drives.

I use them for Docker and VMM projects in my lab due to their efficiency, convenience and ability to use Synology’s large RAID Arrays and have good backup tools available.

I also use them to mount Disk LUNs on physical or virtual Linux machines.

I recommend upgrading the memory to Synology NASs with Docker and Virtual Machine Manager (VMM).

I won’t write an article about which models can be upgraded to what amount officially/unofficially or which memory modules to use.

However, I recommend you read synology-nas-unofficial-memory-upgrade-guide

They keep this information current, whilst I’ll only do the necessary research for the old drives I’m keeping alive.
