Have you experienced “Failed to backup LVM/MD Configuration” which has been happening since early September 2017 on CloudLinux, when you backup with R1Soft?

A package update in Cloudlinux was released, which conflicts with the r1soft native configuration “lvm.static” command, and has caused errors to appear on backups.

Backups are actually working, but this affects the ability to restore the LVM & Volume Group configuration from the recovery point in question (Required during a BareMetal restore).

The “hotfix” is to replace the r1soft lvm.static binary with the system version of LVM, which can be done per below steps.

# mv /usr/sbin/r1soft/lib/lvm.static /usr/sbin/r1soft/lib/lvm.static.original-r1soft

# ln -s /sbin/lvm /usr/sbin/r1soft/lib/lvm.static

Obviously, once R1Soft fix this, you can revert the “hotfix”
